The Challenge

We have never felt more alone.

In a world shaped by endless scrolling, instant replies, and surface-level interaction, genuine connection has become increasingly difficult to find.

Across the UK, US, Australia and beyond, more than 20% of people report having no close connections or friends. 51% find making new friends difficult, and 40% of us want to get closer to our friends but don't know how.*

We have lost the art of connection.

The Idea

Meaningful connection starts with intentional conversations.

The deepest connections are built when we dare to share who we really are–our fears, desires, memories, and dreams–to someone who chooses to meet us there.

Real connection and friendship is not built instantly. It is built over time–across seasons, distance, change, and vulnerability. Through consistent sharing and reciprocity, relationships become lasting archives of who we are and who we become together.

Introducing Dear Bella, The Diary Exchange. A catalyst for authentic connection.

A shared digital diary designed for Gen Z and Millennials to deepen connection and friendship through intentional conversation.

Built for two people, the app creates space for reflections, stories, questions, and everyday thoughts to be exchanged over time–encouraging connection that grows gradually and meaningfully.

As conversations accumulate, the diary becomes a living archive of the relationship: documenting memories, vulnerability, growth, and experiences.

Users can preserve and print their diaries as bespoke keepsakes–transforming digital conversations into tangible, lasting, and deeply personal artifacts.

Through writing and emotional honesty, Dear Bella encourages users to nurture, document, and celebrate meaningful connections–creating friendships that endure across seasons of life.
